Abstract:
Der Vortrag beschreibt den Aufbau eines Eisschildes, erklärt warum Eis als Klimarchiv verwendet werden kann, wie man Eiskerne bohrt und prozessiert. Zeitreihen der stabilen Isotope 18-O und Deuterium werden vorgestellt und erklärt, wie man daraus Temperaturinformationen ableiten kann. Außerdem werden die Zeitreihen von Kohlendioxid und Methan, gewonnen aus antarktischen Eisbohrkernen, diskutiert.
