Abstract

Gravity field determination in ice covered regions of the polar marineareas is possible by using remote sensing techniques, such as satellitealtimetry. An approach using standard altimetry products (oceanproducts, OPR) was developed and successfully applied in the WeddellSea region, Antarctica. Comparisons to marine gravity data clearlydemonstrate good agreement between both data sets.
