Abstract

Coastal Ecosystems are currently changing very rapidly. Considering their importance to humans in terms of fisheries and resources, the rapid warming of regional seas is of great relevance. Recent challenges include for example the influx of new species, ranging from pathogenic bacteria through to jelly fish, as well as changing hydrography. Participants will receive a briefing about the specific field of coastal science with a view on its immediate relevance for the future of human coastal interests.
