Abstract

In most studies dealing withassimilation of altimery datainto ocean models only the timevarying part of the signal (eg.anomalies) were used to constrainthe ocean circulation. The reason forthat was insufficient accuracy of geoidestimates in the past. With improvementof geoid estimation having been gainedrecently in the CHAMP mission we may nowtry to start assimilating the fullocean sea surface height. This paperpresents our first results.
