Abstract

Biological invasions of parasites and their hosts are ideal to study coevolution in nature. For this purpose, a transcriptomic backbone of two invasive copepod parasites will be generated as a genomic resource. Research will be conducted into genetics of invasion and experiments will be done to look at adaptation between old versus new hosts and the transcriptional response along a range of ancient to recent sympatry.
