Thank you for your collaboration ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTENT OF THE ARCHIVES (original format - See Other version) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0. MVP_Amundsen_README.txt (this file) 1. Data Folder MVP data are collected along transects on which the fish (instruments platform) falls in the water for several casts. Each data file represents a cast of a specific transect. The data files are organized in subfolder by transect. 2. Transect Subfolders: MVP_YYYYxxx_zz (YYYY, the year; xxx the leg number (*); zz the transect number). 3. Data and metadata files: . MVP_YYYYxxx_zz_aaa.int (Same as above + aaa for the cast number) . MVP_YYYYxxx_zz_info.int (Specific metadata files; one per transect) 4. Amundsen_MVP_QAQC_Report_yyyy_LEGxx.pdf (Same as above) . Quality control reports; 1 per leg. 5. Ancillary information: . MVP_Metadata.csv file provides the list of all existing casts by year, leg, transect and region . MVP_Metadata_Shapefile.zip provides a shapefile of the casts location (*) A leg is a determined period during which the sampling operations of the ship are scheduled. - Please see MVP_Metada.csv for more details about existence of data for each specific leg and year. DATA CONTROL AND VARIABLES DEFINITION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The QAQC reports contain all the information about the instruments, sensors, precision, QAQC processes, variable definitions and more. Col Content Acronyms Format Units --- ---------------------------------- -------- ------ ----- 1 Pressure Pres F12.2 dB 2 Temperature (ITS-90) Temp F12.2 deg C 3 Practical Salinity Sal F12.2 psu 4 Sound velocity SV F12.2 m/s 5 Transmittance Trans F12.2 % 6 Fluorescence Fluo F12.2 ug/L 7 Dissolved Oxygen O2 F12.2 mL/L 8 Absolute Salinity (TEOS-10) ASAL F12.2 g/kg 9 Conservative Temperature (TEOS-10) CONT F12.2 deg C 10 In situ density (TEOS-10) D_CT F12.2 kg/m^3 11 Potential density (TEOS-10) D0CT F12.2 kg/m^3 NaN stands for: Not a Number. It indicates that no data was recorded or that the data were flagged and mistrusted. MISCELLANEOUS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Caution: Max_depth in the data file is the depth of the processed data. Max_depth in the metadata file …info.int are the depths of the fish. Max depths of the data do not always equal perfectly the depth of the fish. The processing performed on the data do not always allow for the data Max-Depth calculation. ---END------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please, do not hesitate to send suggestions or comments to ArcticNet/Amundsen Science data coordinator (email on Contact page of the website).
