Abstract
This talk highlights the open questions for the next decade in Antarctic geophysical research with a focus on the ice sheet as the upper part of the Earth's crust. Apart from a general perspective of the Antarctic ice sheet, a regional focus is put on the regions surrounding the Concordia station and its unique location, for potential future prospective efforts to define the scientific priorities and the corresponding logistical investments for development of Concordia station.
