Entwicklung eines Wissenschaftsmoduls zur Integration in eine Schmelzsonde
As part of this work, a science module was developed for integration into a melting probe. It is designed for use in extreme environmental conditions such as subglacial lakes or under ice shelves. The aim was to construct a compact, pressure-resistant and saltwater-resistant system that uses integrated sensors to provide information on the biogeochemical properties of the environment and potential biological activity. The science module was designed to be both mechanically and electronically compatible with the melting probe. The work included the development of a structural frame, pressureresistant housing and device mounts, as well as the integration of an electronics unit for data acquisition and transmission. System compatibility and functionality were successfully demonstrated in an initial functional test. This has created the basis for a planned integration test and for later field tests in the Antarctic. The developed science module represents a central contribution to the TRIPLE project and opens up new possibilities for research into subglacial waters.
